Perth based singer-songwriter Darcie Haven is barely two years into her career but is quickly establishing herself as a rising talent in the Australian music scene. Raised on a farm in a remote corner of the state, she learned to sing and play guitar from Missy Higgins CDs and Taylor Swift songbooks. Blending unfiltered, raw song-writing with sharp indie-pop production, her songs have an intimate edge that leave you hanging on every word. Her debut in 2022 saw industry and radio acclaim, triple j quick to grant her an Unearthed Feature Artist title with hosts commending her sophisticated and clever writing. In the span of a year, Darcie has supported Vance Joy, DMAs, Birds of Tokyo, San Cisco and Alex Lahey, with songs that span from upbeat indie grooves to acoustic tear jerkers. ‘Fallen For’ from her debut EP reached number 8 on the triple j Most Played charts, and with 1.5 million combined likes on Tiktok she has amassed a small but dedicated following. Earning comparisons to Gracie Abrams, Holly Humberstone and Taylor Swift, Haven says “I try to write as honestly as possible, not glaze over any sharp edges or cracks. I want to make music that feels like it’s been stolen straight from my journal, you know?”
